NXT Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton defeated Thea Hail (with Duke Hudson) to retain her title

Stratton pinned Hail with a roll-up to retain, despite Hail having made Stratton tap out. The referee was distracted by the antics of Charlie Dempsey and Drew Gulak, which costs Hail the match. Dempsey and Gulak then turn on Hudson, and beat him down. That leads to the surprise return of Andre Chase for the save.

Dempsey and Gulak come down to ringside during the match to watch their trainee, Hail. They would go on to play into the finish, costing Hail her first title match.

Hail is a babyface in peril as the show cuts to its first commercial break. Hail is making a comeback as the show returns from the break. She does the Chase U version of the Garvin Stomp.

In the closing moments, Hail counters Stratton to apply a Kimura. Dempsey interferes by pulling the bottom rope out and away from Stratton's reach, so that Stratton cannot break the hold. Hail breaks anyway, so she can yell at Dempsey for interfering in her match. Hudson gets involved in the yelling. Meanwhile, Gulak jumps on the apron to argue with the referee.

With Hail distracted by her corner, Stratton tries to ambush her. Hail again counters Stratton to apply a Kimura. Stratton taps out to the armlock, but the referee does not see it as he is distracted by Gulak. Hail breaks the hold and goes to get the referee. Stratton from behind with a roll-up on Hail for a three count.

Dempsey and Gulak jump Chase after the match. They are beating down Chase when Andre Chase makes a triumphant return to NXT. Chase makes a save, then he and Hudson clean house on Dempsey and Gulak. This clearly sets up a tag team match for the near future.
