Cooper's Hawk In Talks To Open In Plainfield, Mayor Confirms

PLAINFIELD, IL — Cooper’s Hawk, the popular restaurant and winery, is in talks to open a new location in Plainfield, Mayor John Argoudelis confirmed to Patch.

The self-described “upscale casual” restaurant is looking to move into The Boulevard Place, the development on Route 30, near I-55, that’s anchored by Costco.

“It’s a big deal, as I understand it,” the mayor told Patch on Friday. “It’s a sought-after end user. “They have many options, so for them to be focusing on making this site work is a great compliment to Plainfield.”

Nearby, Cooper’s Hawk is also opening in Montgomery, with a grand opening slated for the spring, Patch reported.

The Plainfield location isn’t a done deal yet, but Argoudelis said he believes a deal will happen “rather quickly” and posited that construction would begin in the fall, pending swift approval.

“The reception in Plainfield has been very, very positive,” he said. “I’m hoping positivity from people in Plainfield wanting this deal to happen will make the deal happen.”

Cooper’s Hawk would also “certainly” lead to two or three more businesses moving into the area, according to the mayor, who said the restaurant would “open the door for other things to get completed.” Argoudelis could not share more information but said they’re “very, very good things.”

For residents keeping their fingers crossed for the addition of a Trader Joe’s, Argoudelis commented that the village does reach out to the company once in a while to show their interest and welcome.
