WILLINGTON, CT — “Balding” tires were blamed for a highway crash in Willington during Saturday’s rains, state police said.
At 1:38 p.m., a 2015 Dodge Challenger being driven by a a 29-year-old Boston man was headed west on Interstate 84 in the center lane, according to a crash report.

The car began to spin out on the wet highway “due to balding tires” and slammed into the center median, according to a crash report.

No injuries were reported, but the car had “disabling damage,” state police said.
