Hall Boys, Bloomfield Girls Claim Team Titles At State Open Track Meet

NEW BRITAIN, CT — Some familiar jerseys adorned the winners’ platform Monday at the State Open outdoor track and field championships at Veterans Stadium in Willow Brook Park.

For the eighth time overall, but first since 2017, Bloomfield won the girls title, compiling 53 points to 41 for runner-up Windsor. On the boys’ side, three-time defending Class LL champion Hall finally broke through, handily winning the Open for the first time by a 64-42.75 margin over Windsor.

Joshua Mooney of Stonington entered the winners’ circle three time, as champion of the boys’ 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and javelin toss, while Gabriela DeFelice of New Canaan won the girls’ shot put and discus throw.
