GLEN COVE, NY — Shye took her powerful singing style all the way to “The Voice” finale this week. She came in second but gained many followers, which started when all four judges turned their chairs for her riveting audition.
“I don’t think there was a single thought behind my eyes,” she said. “I had to keep singing and pretend that didn’t happen.”
Shye grew up in Glen Cove and attended the first three years at Glen Cove High School, before her family moved to Pennsylvania. The singing bug took hold by the time she was six years old.
