An interim commissioner would still need to run in the 2025 consolidated election on April 1 if they wish to fulfill the full term, Sprague said. It will be one of three open seats in the upcoming election; the other two seats will serve a full six-year term.
The filing period for candidacy will be from 8:30 a.m. Nov. 12 to 5 p.m. Nov. 18. Petitions should be filed with Vickers at the Sunset Community Center, 710 Western Ave. in Geneva.
