Firefighters Extinguish Brush Fire In West Babylon: FD

WEST BABYLON, NY — Firefighters responded to a brush fire in West Babylon on Saturday, West Babylon Fire Department officials said.

According to fire department officials, engines three and eight responded to a call reporting a small brush fire in the vicinity of Santapgue Court and Southard Avenue, officials told Patch.

The crews quickly extinguished the fire and “ensured the scene was safe,” officials said.

Mutual aid was provided by Heavy Rescue 15, chiefs 30 and 33 and West Babylon Fire Department’s Rescue Squad.

The scene was turned over to the Long Island Rail Road Fire Marshal’s Office, officials said.

Suffolk County police said no injuries were reported.
