Police, Firefighters Rescue Fawn Drowning In Flooded Construction Site

SPRING VALLEY, NY — Ramapo police officers and Spring Valley firefighters assisted in saving a fawn from drowning in a flooded foundation construction site on Herrick Avenue Wednesday.

“The department received the call from a party who did not identify themselves but reported that the deer was trapped in a flooded foundation of a building,” Det. Lieut. Chris Franklin told Patch.

Ramapo police were assisted by the Spring Valley Fire Department, members of which were able to utilize rope to wrangle the deer and bring it to safety.

It was released into the woods after rescue, Franklin said.
