MIDDLETOWN, CT — An inadvertent emergency call from a Middletown business turned into a treat for a local 3-year-old and the police department.
It was a typical day last Wednesday at Santostefano Auto Body in Middletown, but a call from the MPD put a slight dent in things.
“All of a sudden, the police called to say they have been dispatched to the business and were asking us if we’re ok,” Sabrina Santostefano said. “We said we were, but then wondered what happened.”

The culprit was quickly determined to be 3-year-old Ace. He’s a family fixture at the shop.
“He must have hit the emergency call button on our business phone,” Sabrina said. “He gets into everything.”

With the cops on the way, Sabrina said she had an idea.
“We asked the police to show off the lights and siren for Ace,” she said.
And the cops did just that.
With Ace and Sabrina looking on, the police gave them a show.
“He was scared at first, but it was still exciting,” Sabrina said.
The whole thing was captured on video:
“The video took off and we’re getting likes from all over,” Sabrina said. “This turned out to be something good.”
As of Monday morning there were 333 likes on the Santostefano Auto Body Facebook page for the video and 28 more on the Middletown Police Department page.
