24-Unit Apartment Complex To Go Before Berkeley Zoning Board

BERKELEY, NJ — Next month, the Berkeley Township Zoning Board of Adjustment will hear a proposal for a 24-unit apartment complex on Tallwood Way.

The complex, proposed by La Pierre, LLC, is set for a property that is currently partially developed with a private road connecting Butler Boulevard and Tallwood Way, but has no structures on it at the moment, according to public notice.

The existing property is split between the HB/CN-B zone and the R-100 zone. The developer proposes subdividing it and building the 24 apartments the R-100, or residential, zone. But as multi-family developments are not a permitted use in this zone, a use variance will be necessary.

Other variances for frontage and setbacks are also requested.

A hearing on the proposal will be held at the April 10 Zoning Board meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 627 Pinewald-Keswick Road. Members of the public are invited to attend.
