Vote In 50 Consecutive Novembers? Montco Touts 'Voters Hall Of Fame'

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County is working on a way to honor exemplars of civic duty who have voted in 50 or more consecutive November elections.

The Pennsylvania Voters Hall of Fame has 62 members from Montgomery County who have achieved the rare honor, but local officials say there are many more.

“The right to vote has been hard fought and hard won, and we applaud these citizens for understanding and cherishing that right while setting an example for all of us,” Montgomery County Commissioner and elections chief Neil Makhija said in a statement. “These inspiring Hall of Famers must be recognized for their dedicated civic participation and their commitment to democracy.”

If inducted, citizens receive a special commendation from the state. Montgomery County will also be hosting a special in-person celebration for Hall of Fame inductees on April 4.

Voters who may be eligible should submit their application to Montgomery County’s Office of Voter Services. Voters must have been born since 1955 and have voted in every election since 1973.
