Man Stabbed With Can Opener At Baltimore Bus Stop: Police

BALTIMORE, MD — A man was stabbed repeatedly with a can opener during an argument at a bus stop in downtown Baltimore, authorities said.

According to Baltimore police, officers were patrolling the unit block of Light Street when they were flagged down by a bystander who told them a man was being assaulted near the 100 block of West Lombard Street.

According to police, the victim — a 49-year-old man — was waiting at a bus stop around 5:15 p.m. when he bumped into the suspect, identified only as a 59-year-old man. A verbal argument ensued, police said, and the man used a can opener to repeatedly stab the victim in the head.

The suspect was arrested and the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

The suspect is currently in police custody, authorities said. No charges have been announced.
