SEAL BEACH, CA — A driver was hospitalized after crashing into a tree in Seal Beach Monday afternoon, the Seal Beach Police Department told Patch.
According to Lieutenant Julia Clasby, officers received a report about the crash at the intersection of Lampson Avenue and Basswood Street at about 3:37 p.m. Witnesses told police a solo vehicle had crashed into a tree.
“The driver possibly sustained a medical emergency prior to the collision,” Clasby told Patch.

Traffic on both sides of Lampson Avenue was shut down while officers conducted the investigation.
The driver was treated by paramedics at the scene and then transported to a local hospital.
