Concord Police Investigating Gun Fire At Hall Street Homeless Camp

CONCORD, NH — Concord police scoured the area of Hall, Basin, and South Main streets looking for the person responsible for firing off several rounds from a gun at a homeless camp on Sunday night.

Around 8 p.m., dispatch began taking calls about a man, searching the homeless camps for other men, after reportedly hearing shots fired at in the area of Hall and Basin streets. After speaking to several people, dispatch was able to discern that several shots were fired at the camping area where two women were staying. They also learned the incident may have been a drug deal gone bad.

The man reportedly heard about the incident and began searching for three other men involved in the incident. The man led four officers to the area of the gunshots.

After about 30 minutes, officers could not find anyone near the camps who could tell them anything about the incident. Before leaving, they began looking inside tents, checking the welfare of some of the homeless population. They also searched the area for bullet casings and did not find any.

Other officers began searching the area of South Main Street and Poplar Avenue, attempting to find anyone involved in the incident.

Around 10 p.m., one person was arrested on a stalking warrant out of Londonderry.
