A legendary name from Impact Wrestling's past is returning to the ring at Impact episode 1000.

It was announced today that Awesome Kong will be in action on the 1000th episode of Impact Wrestling. The episode is being filmed at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York on Saturday, September 9.

Kong's opponent for the show hasn't been announced.

This will be Kong's first match in over three years. She last wrestled in 2020 when she was part of AEW.

Kong's AEW contract wasn't renewed in 2021. In July of that year, Kong announced that she was "done" in the ring.

Kong was inducted into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame in October 2021. She was a two-time Knockouts Champion while with TNA/Impact. Her rivalry with Gail Kim was pivotal to the Knockouts division and helped influence women's wrestling as a whole.
