Unlicensed Driver Trying To Pass On Route 206 Causes 3 Car Crash: Cops

MONTGOMERY, NJ — An unlicensed Hillsborough driver was issued multiple citations after police say he caused a three-car crash after trying to pass a car on Route 206 in Montgomery.

On Sunday, July 9 at around 5:30 p.m., Montgomery Police along with Montgomery EMS were called to the area of Route 206 near Aja Cuisine for the reported motor vehicle crash involving injuries.

An investigation found that the driver of a Hyundai Elantra heading south on Route 206 was trying to pass one of the involved vehicles when the driver lost control and hit the vehicle causing it to go into the northbound lane of travel and strike a northbound traveling vehicle head on, said Montgomery Police.

Police found all three vehicles involved in the crash disabled in the middle of the roadway blocking traffic. Montgomery officers rendered aid to those injured until Montgomery EMS arrived.

The three people involved in the crash were taken to Robert Wood Johnson(RWJ) University Hospital Somerset and RWJ New Brunswick by Montgomery EMS with injuries.

The driver responsible for the crash was identified as Sean Lebron, 20, of Hillsborough. He was issued multiple motor vehicle citations including careless driving, driving without a license, failure to exhibit documents, and failure to maintain lane.

Lebron is due to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court for the violations.

Traffic was restored to the roadway after all involved vehicles were towed and patrols cleared at around 7:30 p.m.
