Men Sold Vape Products To Underage Teens At 2 Middletown Stores: PD

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Two men, one local from Middletown, were arrested Tuesday and charged with illegally selling vape products to underage teens.

The arrests took place at the Wilson Avenue Deli and in front of Monmouth Smoke and Cigar Shop on Rt. 36 south. Both stores are located in the Port Monmouth section.

Middletown Police detectives have been quietly monitoring local businesses for some time now, said Deputy Chief Paul Bailey, after some Middletown residents told police they are worried certain convenience stores in the area are selling vape products to underage teens.

Nelson Yumul, 68, from Middletown and Haq Khan, 25, from Jersey City, were both arrested Tuesday by MTPD Detective Ricardo Cruz.

Both were charged with the illegal sale of a flavored vaping product to a person under 21 years of age.
