Sania Mirza bid farewell to an illustrious career after losing in the 1st Round in Dubai. 

She lost along with Madison Keys vs Vernokia Kudermetova and Liudmila Samsonova and the scoreline was 4-6, 0-6.

It may have been an inauspicious end to a legendary career, but Sania is not the first legend to lose her last match. 

In fact, she has some pretty good company:

1. Steffi Graf 

 Graf announced her retirement after retiring with a strained hamstring from a second-round match against Amy Frazier in San Diego in 1999. 

2. Andre Agassi 

 Retired after being knocked out of the US Open by Benjamin Becker in 2006. 

3. Roger Federer 

 Lost in Laver Cup doubles with Rafael Nadal in 2022.
