Rennes sporting director Florian Maurice intends to stand firm on January offers for Martin Terrier & Lovro Majer

Speaking an a lengthy interview with L’Équipe as the winter transfer window comes into swing, Rennes sporting director Florian Maurice spoke about the prospect of selling any of the key players at the club, including winger Martin Terrier as well as Lovro Majer, who has just come off the back of a productive third-place finish with Croatia at the 2022 World Cup.

When asked whether Rennes would stand firm on an ‘”extraordinary offer” coming in for one of his key players during the January transfer window, Maurice replied that “this was already the case this summer for some of our players” as he makes reference to receiving offers for Lovro Majer and Martin Terrier. The sporting director however reaffirmed that “to go as far as we possibly can with this team, we need to keep everyone”.

Rennes currently sit third in Ligue 1, as they are chasing RC Lens in second place and are hoping for a European spot – at least – by the end of the season. Whilst offers came in the summer for Terrier and Majer, holding onto them will be key in realising the club’s objectives under manager Bruno Génésio by the end of the season.
