Having come through the academy at Lyon, Aouar has made 222 appearances for the club, however, only seven of those have come this season. With his contract about to expire, Aouar is free to speak to other clubs about a pre-contract agreement. He won’t be short on suitors.

According to Relevo, La Liga side Real Betis are looking to offer Aouar a five-year contract, which would see him earn €2.5m net per year. He would also be paid a signing-on fee of around €5m, and he would earn 30% of a future sale. The Spanish side are looking to convince Aouar and his entourage that a move to Betis is the correct move. The club invited the player’s brother, and another key negotiator in the deal, to Sevilla in order to allow them to get to know the city, as well as the club’s stadium.

Betis are also looking to exploit Aouar’s relationship with former Lyon player Nabil Fekir, who made the switch from the Groupama Stadium to Real Betis back in 2019. However, the La Liga club will be rivalled for his signature. Nottingham Forest, who made an approach in the summer, are still interested. In Italy, both Milan club, AC and Inter, are also keen on the player, and Aouar himself is giving preference to a move to AC Milan.
