The two clubs are discussing the final details of the deal. Nice’s latest offer, their seventh of the window, amounts to around €30m, including bonuses. That is the figure demanded by the Breton club since the beginning of the window, but a figure that had yet to be reached by Les Aiglons.

Moffi had attracted interest from the Premier League with West Ham United and Southampton tracking the Nigerian international. Olympique de Marseille came close to signing the player having agreed a player-plus-cash deal with Lorient, however, the player’s desire has always been for a move to Nice, and Moffi, therefore, rejected the move.

The final details are now being negotiated, with issues such as bonus percentages and sell-on fees being currently discussed. Arguably the longest saga of the transfer window now looks to be reaching its denouement.
